About the role
WSP is looking for a Senior Stakeholder Engineer to join its Transport & Infrastructure team in Sharjah. You will act as the primary interface between project teams, clients, authorities and the community, ensuring smooth coordination and timely approvals across major infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities
- Lead stakeholder engagement for complex transport and infrastructure design and construction projects.
- Develop and implement stakeholder management plans and communication strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Coordinate with government authorities, utility providers, developers and community representatives to secure approvals and minimise conflicts.
- Maintain stakeholder registers, track issues, commitments and resolutions.
- Support design and engineering teams in identifying stakeholder constraints and developing mitigation measures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, workshops and presentations to convey stakeholder requirements and feedback.
- Review and interpret authority standards, guidelines and procedures relevant to project delivery.
- Provide technical input to reports, correspondence and presentations related to stakeholder management.
- Ensure compliance with WSP’s project management systems, quality standards and health & safety policies.
- Mentor junior team members in stakeholder coordination and communication best practices.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in stakeholder management on large‑scale transport and infrastructure projects in the UAE.
- Proven experience liaising with Dubai authorities such as RTA, DM, DDA, DCD, DEWA, du, etc.
- Strong understanding of design and construction processes for roads, highways, utilities and public‑realm projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines.
- Previous consultancy experience is preferred.
