Senior Supervisor - Engineering

About the role

The Senior Supervisor – Engineering leads the maintenance team at a hotel, ensuring all equipment, tools and safety systems are operational and compliant. This role combines hands‑on technical work with staff management and guest service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment; calibrate controls, gauges and meters.
• Inspect, test and operate fire‑pump, generator, fire‑sprinkler valves and alarm systems; complete life‑safety checklists.
• Manage inventory, order parts and supplies, and maintain purchase‑order logs.
• Operate power lift and perform other mechanical tasks such as reaching overhead, lifting up to 50 lb and moving equipment.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching engineering staff.
• Respond to guest repair requests and ensure service standards for guests, including those with disabilities.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of related engineering/maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required skills

• Preventative maintenance and equipment calibration.
• Inventory management and parts ordering.
• Operation of power lift and other mechanical tools.
• Fire‑pump, generator and fire‑sprinkler system testing.
• Use of computers for work‑related information entry.
