  • Carry out system-level safety assessments for avionics, flight control, fuel, hydraulic, landing gear, propulsion, electrical, communication and mission systems, and support integration of COTS and custom systems.
  • Develop safety verification strategies, review V&V activities, and support test readiness reviews, ground testing, simulation, HIL and flight testing.
  • Ensure compliance with SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761, MIL-STD-882E, NATO AEP-4671, DO-178C, DO-254, STANAG and GCAA requirements, and support airworthiness certification and supplier safety assessments.
  • Maintain hazard logs, risk registers, safety cases and technical documentation such as FHAP, SSA, FTA, FMEA/FMECA reports, CCAP, PRAs and safety plans.
  • Lead system safety workgroups, take part in technical reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, QR, FCA, PCA), mentor junior engineers and support accident investigations and lessons learned.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, aeronautical, avionics, systems, electrical/electronic, mechanical engineering or a related field (required); Master's preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, UAV, military or commercial aviation engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience performing system safety assessments on airborne platforms.
  • Background in avionics, flight control, fuel, landing gear, hydraulic, propulsion, electrical power or mission systems.
  • Experience supporting certification, qualification, military airworthiness or regulatory compliance programs.

Required skills

  • Proven experience applying SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, MIL-STD-882E and NATO AEP-4671.
  • Preferred: INCOSE ASEP, CSEP or ESEP; MIL-STD-882 training; practical experience with ARP4754A, ARP4761 and AEP-4671.
  • Advantageous: ASQ CRE, functional safety (IEC 61508), DO-178C/DO-254 training, AS9100/ISO 9001 awareness; experience supporting military, UAV, rotorcraft or civil aircraft certification.
