Senior Technical DevOps Engineer - SRE

About the role

Emirates Group is looking for a Senior Technical DevOps Engineer (SRE) to join its DevOps and Automation team in Dubai. The role drives DevOps and automation practices at product and program level, designing, implementing and optimising DevOps strategies to improve efficiency, scalability and reliability. It acts as a bridge between development and operations, applying site reliability principles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the discovery phase of cloud adoption and migration by partnering with architects and security to define DevOps and cloud engineering architectures.
• Automate change management, build resiliency, monitoring, capacity planning and emergency response for the products you own.
• Act as lead for service reliability, scalability and performance within the system enablement team for Agile release trains.
• Review deployment and operational environments, reduce failures, troubleshoot the full infrastructure stack and expand monitoring.
• Work with Release Engineering, Product Development and Security on change management strategies such as canary deployments and safe rollbacks.
• Enable automation and keep the continuous deployment pipeline healthy, with high-quality, production-ready code.
• Build, maintain and operate development, CI/CD environments based on cloud principles such as 12-factor apps.
• Advise on DevSecOps and security solutions, and support preventive, adaptive and perfective maintenance of systems.

Required profile

• Degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on knowledge of build automation and CI/CD ecosystems.
• Experience with container orchestration development, management and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience in hybrid cloud or AWS/Azure environments, and with microservices CI/CD.
• Leadership role.
