Senior Technical Software Engineer - Quality Engineering Platforms

About the role

Emirates is hiring a Senior Technical Software Engineer for its Quality Engineering Chapter in Dubai. The engineer is a fully participating member of an agile feature team, working independently on software development and problem resolution. The role covers technical design, development, implementation and maintenance of software solutions supporting the Emirates Group business.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical design, development and deployment of complex solutions and carry out technical design reviews to ensure the right architecture patterns.
• Drive adoption of engineering practices, development automation, lean software development, built-in quality, test-driven development, agile practices and root cause analysis with blameless post-mortems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on solution viability, evaluate problems and requirements, and drive proof-of-concepts and prototypes.
• Debug and fix complex issues involving corner cases and rare conditions, and investigate alternatives and new technologies for architectural review.
• Contribute to sprint planning, provide subject-matter expertise, and mentor software engineers through coaching and training.
• Ensure adherence to design and coding standards, optimal use of enterprise platforms and tools, and maintain products through corrective, adaptive, preventative and perfective maintenance.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in information technology and 5 years in application development.
• Experience in technology evaluation, vendor selection and managing technology platforms for DevOps, including data pipelines, code management and CI/CD.
• Ability to design event-driven, reactive and scalable systems, and to provide production support for business-critical applications.
• Exposure to AI/ML, generative AI, LLM integrations and AI agents is an added advantage.

• Java (8, 11 or 21+), Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring WebFlux, JPA, Hibernate, JUnit/TestNG, SonarQube and ShiftLeft.
• ReactJS and NextJS.
• Solace, Tibco and Kafka.
• Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure).
• Oracle SQL or similar RDBMS, NoSQL, and RESTful APIs.
• CI/CD, DevOps, test-driven development and automated deployments.
