Senior Technician - DC Automation

About the role

Apparel Group is looking for a Senior Technician for its DC automation team. The role covers advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of warehouse automation systems, acting as the escalation point for critical failures and supporting operations, IT and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems such as AS/RS, conveyors, sorters, PLCs and robotic pick/pack stations
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and control system issues, coordinating with OEMs or engineering teams when needed
• Calibrate and test sensors, drives, motors and actuators
• Escalate critical automation failures and work with operations and IT on WMS and WCS interface issues
• Support planning of equipment shutdowns and system upgrades with minimal disruption to distribution
• Ensure compliance with HSE, electrical and automation safety protocols, run audits and inspections, and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Maintain intervention logs, part replacements, firmware upgrades and software patches in the CMMS
• Train and mentor technicians and juniors on troubleshooting, SOPs and safety, and contribute to project documentation for expansions and retrofits

Required profile

• 5-7 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting warehouse automation systems or industrial equipment
• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Automation; PLC/HMI certifications preferred
• IT literacy for basic diagnostics, system updates and maintenance tracking

Required skills

• Working knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, PLC diagnostics and mechanical drive systems
• Experience with WMS-integrated automation and HMI interfaces preferred
