Senior Transport Planner

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to lead the technical delivery of transport projects and support business development initiatives. You will work on medium‑size assignments, manage client relationships, and contribute to the company’s growth in the marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver small and medium transport projects with minimal supervision.
• Prepare high‑quality written reports, technical analyses, and presentations.
• Develop technical and financial bids and participate in business development activities.
• Act as Project Manager on medium‑size projects, ensuring successful delivery.
• Serve as the primary client contact, addressing queries and needs.
• Manage project finances, including invoicing, contract administration, and budget tracking.
• Provide direction to sub‑consultants and ensure commercial success.
• Apply Mott MacDonald methodologies and project‑management principles on live projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Civil Engineering; MSc in Transport Planning or Civil Engineering is advantageous.
• Professional membership in a transport‑related institution.
• Experience on Abu Dhabi projects.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently and in teams on complex tasks.
• Proven judgement on sensitive and complex issues.
• Experience preparing multidisciplinary proposals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with junction capacity analysis software SIDRA, Synchro and HCS.
• Experience using transport modelling tools such as CUBE (STEAM) and/or VISSIM/VISUM.
