Senior Yard Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation

About the role

The Senior Yard Engineer will lead Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) activities on both onshore and offshore brownfield projects. Reporting to the E&I Construction Manager, the role ensures that all engineering, procurement, and construction tasks are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Support PMT works, coordinate updates on AFC drawings, shop drawings, material receipt and construction schedule.
• Resolve engineering, inspection queries and concession requests with QA/QC and client teams.
• Identify contractual scope changes, monitor revised drawings, and request necessary job instructions or variation orders.
• Maintain daily marked‑up As‑Built drawings and participate in constructability review meetings.
• Supervise all E&I construction activities on site, ensuring resource availability, safety compliance and adherence to contract terms.
• Track manpower, material utilization and report potential shortages to the Construction Manager.
• Maintain peer‑level contacts with clients and subcontractors to resolve site queries and deviations.
• Ensure proper preservation of equipment according to project procedures and vendor recommendations.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and follow up day‑to‑day E&I work to meet contractual requirements, schedule and budget.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to achieve individual KPIs and contribute to department objectives.
• Experience participating in pre‑construction and engineering surveys for brownfield locations.
• Proven track record supervising E&I construction activities and managing interfaces with other disciplines.
• Strong capability to identify constraints affecting progress and communicate them promptly.
