Server Side Swift Developer

About the role

Chalhoub Group is seeking a senior Server‑Side Swift Developer to join the Level Shoes backend team. You will own the design, implementation and production health of Vapor‑based micro‑services that power iOS, Android and web storefronts across six GCC markets in English and Arabic.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable Swift services using Vapor, handling high‑traffic sale‑day loads.
• Develop and operate RESTful APIs for accounts, catalogue, cart, checkout, payments and orders, ensuring correct market and locale scoping.
• Integrate third‑party systems (commerce platform, order management, search, CMS, payment/BNPL gateways) with robust webhook handling and graceful degradation.
• Implement concurrency‑safe, idempotent processing, model data in MongoDB, and optimise queries.
• Manage caching and session state in Redis, and tune ElasticSearch‑backed search functionality.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes deployments and monitor production via logs and metrics.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software development, with at least 3 years building production backend services in server‑side Swift (Vapor).
• Strong expertise in Swift concurrency, protocol‑oriented design and Codable.
• Proven experience handling concurrency, race conditions and idempotency in multi‑instance services.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design, authentication and token lifecycle.
