Shipping Supervisor - Everyday Goods

About the role

The Shipping Supervisor will oversee all export shipping operations, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, on time, and in full compliance with international trade regulations. Reporting to the Director of Distribution Management, the role coordinates with internal teams and distributors to guarantee timely deliveries and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shipping schedules, track shipments and ensure export sales meet delivery timelines.
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Update the Director of Distribution Management and Senior Business Development Manager on shipment status, production readiness, payments and SAP invoicing.
• Reconcile distributor statements of account and work with finance to keep records up‑to‑date.
• Monitor inventory levels with the supply‑chain team to ensure product availability for dispatch.
• Negotiate contracts and optimise routes with freight forwarders and logistics partners.
• Manage delays or issues, proposing solutions to maintain efficient delivery schedules.
• Conduct regular audits of shipping processes and assist in resolving claims or disputes.
• Provide performance metrics and cost‑efficiency updates to management using SAP ERP.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities to enhance export logistics efficiency.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of shipping and logistics processes.
• Familiarity with international trade regulations and documentation requirements.
• Strong coordination skills with internal teams, distributors and logistics partners.
• Ability to monitor inventory and manage export‑related financial statements.
• Experience in negotiating contracts and optimising shipping routes.
