Shopping Experience Team Leader

About the role

The Shopping Experience Team Leader at IKEA Al‑Ain drives sales growth and ensures a smooth, self‑serve shopping experience. The role leads a team of co‑workers, aligns with IKEA’s shopping methods, and maintains profitability while building long‑term customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Guide customers to promote easy flow and maintain waiting time according to benchmarks.
• Support co‑workers in resolving complaints quickly and positively.
• Motivate the team through product knowledge of the IKEA range, local market insights, and customer understanding.
• Coach and develop co‑workers, ensuring awareness of sales targets, services, and expectations.
• Manage staffing levels to run the department efficiently.
• Identify and implement cost‑effective ways of working.
• Communicate departmental SOPs to all team members.
• Receive, count and sign off the daily cash float; prepare end‑of‑day reconciliation documents.
• Collaborate with Finance to investigate discrepancies and ensure control over differences.
• Organise cash and coins in the till by denomination.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a retail supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to handle complaints.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
• Good numerical aptitude for cash handling and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with IKEA’s self‑serve concept is a plus.
