Site Architect

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Site Architect in Dubai for the civil construction sector. The architect controls the project from concept through to completion, ensuring coherent, innovative and functional designs while keeping costs and schedules within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Take the brief, identify client needs and prepare feasibility reports and design proposals
• Develop ideas considering client needs, building use and environmental impact
• Produce detailed blueprints and compile project specifications, correcting errors as needed
• Oversee technical drawings by less senior designers and plan minor revisions to the design
• Request building permits and authorisation from the competent authorities, and record proposals, applications and contracts
• Make on-site visits to check progress and report back
• Drive to sites, suggested locations and client meetings regularly
• Ensure works meet building codes, guidelines and regulations, and stay within budget and timeline

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architecture
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the GCC construction industry
• Great attention to detail and excellent communication with technical and senior audiences
• Willingness to work long hours under tight time and cost constraints and to work on site with clients
