Site Engineer – Construction Project

About the role

The Site Engineer oversees daily construction activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, on schedule, and in line with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards. Reporting to the Section Engineer, the role coordinates manpower, subcontractors and site documentation to meet project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Review and control construction drawings, ensuring only the latest issued‑for‑construction documents are used on site.
• Maintain daily site diaries, reports and records, and prepare daily quantity and workforce reports.
• Supervise on‑site construction to guarantee compliance with drawings, specifications, programmes and method statements.
• Monitor progress against the schedule, report delays or constraints, and coordinate trade subcontractors.
• Plan and conduct inspections according to approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), initiate inspection requests and manage quality records.
• Implement site safety procedures, monitor hazards, and promote safe work practices.
• Control material usage, record consumption, and ensure adequate resources are available.
• Communicate technical issues, site events and progress updates to the Section Engineer and other disciplines.
