Skilled Welder – Production & Fabrication

About the role

Islands auto is seeking a skilled Welder to join its Production / Fabrication / Maintenance team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will carry out welding and fabrication tasks in line with technical drawings, specifications, and strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding using MIG, TIG, ARC/SMAW and other applicable processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols and specifications.
• Prepare, cut, fit, align and assemble metal components before welding.
• Select appropriate welding methods, electrodes and consumables.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders and related tools.
• Inspect welds for cracks, porosity, distortion and other defects.
• Carry out grinding, polishing and finishing as required.
• Ensure all work complies with dimensions, tolerances and quality‑control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free work area and follow HSE procedures.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of welding experience in fabrication, construction, manufacturing or maintenance.
• Technical or vocational qualification in welding (preferred).
• Ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety and welding hazards.
• Physically fit and able to work in varied positions and environments.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
