Software Developer – Java Backend Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team, supporting large‑scale public security and government technology projects. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend applications using Java and J2EE technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend software using Java 11, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
• Design and implement RESTful and SOAP web services/APIs.
• Contribute to software architecture, design patterns, and overall application structure.
• Handle change requests, feature enhancements, bug fixes, and ongoing maintenance.
• Participate in requirement analysis, effort estimation, and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with technical leads and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Support deployment, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in backend software development.
• Strong knowledge of Java 11 and J2EE technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
• Experience building RESTful and SOAP APIs/services.
• Good understanding of Hibernate/JPA and ORM concepts.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
