Software Development Engineer – AI

About the role

The Software Development Engineer – AI is a senior engineer responsible for architecting and delivering mission‑critical internal systems using AI‑augmented development. You will combine deep expertise in PHP/Symfony with Claude AI to accelerate high‑quality delivery while ensuring code integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build full‑stack applications from database schema to UI, using PHP 8+, Symfony, Twig and Claude AI for rapid iteration.
• Own features end‑to‑end: define requirements, design APIs, implement with AI assistance, conduct rigorous code reviews, test, deploy and support live systems.
• Lead AI‑assisted development practices: write precise specifications, guide Claude’s output, validate and correct generated code.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews and share AI best practices.
• Identify workflow or system gaps, propose improvements and drive them to production.
• Maintain up‑to‑date architecture documentation, API specs and database schemas.

Required profile

• 6–7 years of professional software development experience with full ownership of features from concept to production.
• Expert‑level proficiency in PHP 8+ and Symfony (5+), including REST API design, form handling and security hardening.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL; experience with NoSQL is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience using Claude AI or similar tools as a development partner.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
