Software Engineering Graduate Trainee

About the role

Property Finder, the leading property portal in the MENA region, is looking for a Software Engineering Trainee to join its engineering team. You will work on real problems for millions of buyers, renters and agents: the Next.js web experience, the services behind it, and the AI agents and automated workflows built with LLMs. The programme values how you think and learn more than what you already know; experienced engineers will mentor you and review your work.

Key responsibilities

• Break down unclear problems and work with a mentor to scope a solution you can ship.
• Build features and prototypes across the React/Next.js frontend and the TypeScript (Node.js) backend, with guidance and code review from experienced engineers.
• Build AI agents and automated workflows on top of LLMs, including prompts, tool calling and quality checks of what the agents produce.
• Analyse customer usage data to back up your recommendations.
• Present your work and reasoning to engineers, product managers and designers.
• Learn how a large-scale marketplace works and share what you learn with the team.

Required profile

• A student or recent graduate in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.
• Strong problem-solving and structured thinking, with the ability to turn a messy problem into clear parts and test hypotheses.
• Proven ability to learn quickly, shown through projects, coursework, competitions or work experience.
• Good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, for example a project on an LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, AWS Bedrock or similar), prompts, tool calling, RAG or AI coding assistants.
• Some programming experience in at least one language.
• Nice to have: experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js or Go; familiarity with SQL, Redis, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch or cloud platforms such as AWS; hackathons, competitive programming or personal projects (e.g. on GitHub).
