Solar PV & Energy Storage Technician

About the role

IAN Sustainable Solutions is looking for a skilled Solar PV & Energy Storage Technician to join its Dubai team. The role involves hands‑on installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of solar and battery storage systems for commercial and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, battery storage systems, DC/AC cabling and related electrical equipment.
• Support electrical testing, troubleshooting, system commissioning and project hand‑over under engineering supervision.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs and system inspections.
• Follow strict HSE procedures, including work at heights, LOTO, PPE and battery safety.
• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, manufacturer specifications, DEWA requirements and UAE safety standards.
• Coordinate closely with Site Engineers and project teams to meet schedule and quality targets.

Required profile

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on Solar PV EPC installation and O&M experience in the UAE, preferably on commercial & industrial projects.
• Previous employment with a Solar PV or Energy Storage EPC company.
• Valid UAE driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Solar PV installation, DC/AC wiring and inverter connections.
• Electrical testing, troubleshooting and reading electrical drawings.
• Practical experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) – highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of HSE practices: electrical safety, work at heights, LOTO, PPE and risk assessments.
