Solution Engineer - Advanced Observability

About the role

Dynatrace is looking for a Solution Engineer to join its sales engine, supporting the sales team across Dubai and South Africa. You will be the expert on Dynatrace and advanced observability, running technical demos, managing POCs onsite and remotely, building customer relationships and completing RFIs and RFPs. The role works across innovation labs, Expert Services consultants, customer success managers and marketing, and may be filled at a higher level depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Present Dynatrace's product at international trade shows and key customer meetings, and deliver on-stage demos at Dynatrace or partner-sponsored events
• Partner with sales reps to identify new and incremental opportunities, and present the product vision to C-suite executives
• Lead the technical evaluation of solutions in the discovery, solution evaluation and proposal stages, and run PoCs and cloud architecture discussions
• Provide technical guidance and act as trusted advisor to partners, and give feedback to Product Management
• Travel up to 50% of the time

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or experience
• 5+ years of experience in observability or application performance management
• Previous experience with enterprise customers in South Africa and Dubai
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, manage several projects at once and work with salespeople and other SEs
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred skills

• Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and languages such as Java.NET, PHP, Go, Node.js and databases
• DevOps or SRE practices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, serverless and CI/CD
• Log management and analytics, correlating logs with traces and metrics
• Runtime application security and DevSecOps
• Monitoring AI/LLM applications and building AI-enabled apps (RAG, prompt engineering)
