Sonographer – Ultrasound Imaging Specialist

About the role

The Sonographer will deliver high‑quality ultrasound imaging services at the Tawam Fertility Center, supporting diagnostic and treatment pathways for patients. Working independently or under the guidance of a senior sonographer, you will ensure accurate image acquisition, assessment, and reporting in line with departmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all ultrasound imaging procedures, adhering to department policies and protocols.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies and equipment; report shortages promptly.
• Evaluate image quality, appropriateness and completeness; forward images to radiologists for review.
• Recognize anatomy and pathology, optimise scan protocols and liaise with radiologists for further testing.
• Ensure safe and competent use of radiology equipment; report incidents or faults.
• Keep the work area clean, restock supplies and clean equipment after use.
• Provide technical advice to medical and technical staff on imaging techniques.
• Handle patient and clinical staff enquiries professionally.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and participate in method evaluation.
• Comply with safety, infection‑control, confidentiality and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Document all interventions accurately and support clinical audit processes.
• Participate in education sessions for staff on equipment handling and best practices.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently or under supervision in a clinical imaging environment.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high diagnostic standards.
• Understanding of safety, infection‑control and confidentiality requirements.
• Professional communication skills with patients, families and healthcare teams.
