Specialist, Category Buyer - IT

About the role

The Specialist, Category Buyer - IT manages and executes procurement for low-value, repeat spend categories across MAIR Group's operations. The role focuses on cost efficiency, process optimization and supplier performance for recurring goods and services, while aligning with corporate procurement policies. It supports the Operations Section by streamlining purchasing, maintaining supplier relationships and driving compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned low-value, repeat spend categories within IT and develop category strategies to support cost reduction and efficiency.
• Run competitive sourcing and negotiations, and identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and standardization.
• Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders, monitor PO status and delivery performance, and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure procurement activities meet internal controls, compliance standards and audit requirements, and support automation and process improvement.
• Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders, build strong supplier relationships, and monitor supplier KPIs and performance reviews.
• Analyse category spend for trends, savings and compliance gaps, prepare regular reports and dashboards, and contribute to procurement performance metrics and category tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in category management or operational buying.
• CIPS, CPSM, CPP, CPPM or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Preferred: strong negotiation and analytical skills, excellent communication, detail-oriented, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ERP procurement modules such as SAP and Oracle.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and data analysis tools.
• Understanding of procurement best practices.
