About the role

The Specialist in Family Medicine & Lifestyle Medicine provides high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care within a hospital division. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Physician, the role combines clinical excellence with the mentorship of junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support departmental initiatives, policies and performance management processes.
• Ensure continuous medical coverage across the division and attend divisional meetings.
• Participate in incident reporting, investigation and response.
• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards for family and lifestyle medicine.
• Supervise junior medical staff and share responsibility for their patient care.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Review investigations, modify treatment plans, and obtain informed consent for procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, other specialties and support services.
• Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis.

Required profile

• Medical qualification in Family Medicine or Lifestyle Medicine.
• Demonstrated clinical excellence and commitment to patient safety.
• Experience supervising junior doctors and contributing to their training.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.
