Specialist HVAC Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Specialist HVAC Engineer to provide expert engineering support for offshore oil and gas facilities in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) to commissioning and hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review HVAC engineering deliverables for offshore facilities during FEED and EPC phases.
• Assess contractor designs, calculations, specifications, equipment data sheets and technical bids.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, ASHRAe, SMACNA, NFPA, API, ISO and other relevant codes.
• Perform HVAC load calculations, ventilation studies, equipment sizing, duct routing, pressurisation philosophy and smoke‑management design.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil/structural, architectural, safety and construction disciplines.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, constructability, model and design reviews.
• Support procurement by reviewing technical queries, bid evaluations and vendor offers.
• Provide technical assistance during construction, installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT and project hand‑over.
• Review engineering changes, deviations and concession requests, and monitor progress against schedule, quality and HSE requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in HVAC design for offshore oil and gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC standards and international codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, API, ISO).
