Specialist ICU – Critical Care Physician

About the role

Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Specialist ICU to join its Critical Care team. The role involves delivering comprehensive, evidence‑based intensive care to critically ill adult patients in a JCI‑accredited, 200‑bed facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, developing individualized treatment plans.
• Perform and supervise critical care procedures, including ventilator management and advanced life‑support interventions.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, rapid‑response calls and code‑blue situations.
• Collaborate with consultants, physicians, nursing and allied health teams during daily rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support quality‑improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completed residency in Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine or related specialty.
• Specialist qualification recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi and eligibility for DOH licensure.
• 3‑5 years post‑specialization experience in an ICU setting.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, communication and teamwork abilities.
