Specialist Integrity Engineer – Asset Integrity Management

About the role

Wood is seeking a Specialist Integrity Engineer on a three‑year secondment in Abu Dhabi to support a major energy client. The role provides subject‑matter expertise in asset integrity management, risk‑based inspection and fitness‑for‑service assessment across a large onshore oil and gas portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of asset integrity management programmes for client operating assets.
• Provide specialist expertise in Risk‑Based Inspection (RBI), Fitness‑for‑Service (FFS), asset life assessment and integrity management.
• Develop and enhance RBI methodologies, risk models and Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) programmes.
• Perform and review FFS assessments, root‑cause analyses, life‑extension studies and integrity assessments.
• Facilitate technical workshops, integrity reviews and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Mentor engineers and integrity personnel and support implementation of recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Minimum 15 years experience in integrity engineering, inspection or asset integrity management, including 5 years in a specialist or technical authority role.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and client‑facing communication skills.
• Safety‑focused with a commitment to technical excellence and mentoring.

Required skills

• API 571 and API 580 certifications (preferred API 510, 570, 653).
• ISO 55001 asset‑management awareness.
• Proficiency in Risk‑Based Inspection (RBI) methodology.
• Experience with Fitness‑for‑Service (FFS) assessments (API 579).
• Knowledge of Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) and inspection planning.
• Root‑cause analysis and life‑extension study techniques.
