Specialist Internal Medicine

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Specialist in Internal Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for adult patients, ensuring adherence to DOH regulations and international clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic adult medical conditions.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient Internal Medicine services, including hypertension, diabetes, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infectious, renal, and endocrine disorders.
• Take detailed histories, perform physical examinations, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Interpret laboratory investigations, ECGs, radiological imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with specialists and allied health professionals.
• Manage medical emergencies, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety programs.
• Supervise junior physicians and contribute to teaching, research, and CME activities.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine (MD, Arab Board, MRCP, CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent).
• Valid DOH License or eligibility to obtain one as a Specialist Internal Medicine.
• International board certification preferred.
