Specialist - Obstetrics and Gynaecology

About the role

The Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will deliver high‑quality, ethical clinical care to patients in Abu Dhabi. The role involves direct patient management, surgical procedures, and participation in emergency and outpatient services while ensuring compliance with clinical governance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic clinical services, including surgical care in the operating room and outpatient department.
• Cover the delivery suite: admit patients, review histories, plan care, perform spontaneous and operative deliveries, and coordinate with midwives.
• Respond promptly to emergency consultations and provide out‑patient clinic care as assigned.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations and fetal heart‑rate monitoring, taking appropriate clinical actions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and monitor clinical risk indicators.
• Participate in formal and informal consultations with other physicians and attend departmental committee meetings.
• Communicate patient status and care plans to families and ensure adherence to infection‑control and patient‑safety policies.
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to quality‑assurance activities.

Required profile

• Licensed and eligible healthcare provider authorized to practice obstetrics and gynaecology in the UAE.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays according to departmental schedules.
• Commitment to ethical, responsible clinical practice and continuous professional development.
