Specialist Occupational Medicine Physician

About the role

SearchPlus HR is seeking a qualified Specialist Occupational Medicine Physician to join a reputable healthcare group in Qatar. The role focuses on promoting workplace health, preventing occupational illnesses and injuries, and providing specialised medical assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct occupational health assessments such as pre‑employment, periodic, fitness‑for‑duty and return‑to‑work examinations.
• Diagnose, manage and prevent work‑related illnesses and injuries, and assess fitness for specific roles.
• Develop and implement occupational health programmes aimed at disease prevention and employee wellbeing.
• Monitor employees with work‑related health conditions and coordinate treatment, rehabilitation and follow‑up.
• Collaborate with employers, HR teams, occupational health nurses, safety officers and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain confidential medical records and ensure compliance with occupational health standards and Qatar regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Recognised specialist qualification in Occupational Medicine from the UK, Australia or South Africa.
• Relevant postgraduate specialist training and clinical experience in occupational medicine.
• Experience in occupational health assessments, workplace risk evaluation and management of work‑related illnesses.
• Knowledge of occupational health legislation, workplace safety standards and preventive healthcare practices.
• Eligibility for specialist‑level professional licensing in Qatar, subject to authority requirements.

Required skills

• Strong clinical assessment, report‑writing and communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with employers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
