Specialist Physician – Dermatology

About the role

We are seeking a Specialist Physician in Dermatology to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care within our hospital division. The role involves leading clinical activities, supervising junior staff and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide diagnosis and treatment for dermatology patients in line with best practice standards.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff, sharing clinical expertise.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document care promptly.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate care with other specialties.
• Ensure appropriate use of resources, adhere to hospital policies, and support performance‑management processes.
• Respond to untoward incidents, contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives and audits.
• Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Communicate clinical information to patients and families with consent, and obtain informed consent for procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified physician with specialist training in Dermatology.
• Demonstrated clinical excellence and commitment to patient‑centred care.
• Experience supervising junior medical staff and participating in teaching activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Willingness to engage in audit, research and quality‑improvement projects.
