Specialist Procurement Engineer – Offshore Island Project

About the role

The Procurement Engineer ensures timely procurement, manufacturing, inspection, and delivery of materials and equipment for offshore projects. The role focuses on expediting vendor activities, monitoring production schedules, resolving delays, and coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, inspection agencies, and project teams to meet critical milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Review purchase orders, contracts and technical specifications; develop and maintain expediting plans aligned with project schedules.
• Monitor vendor manufacturing, fabrication, testing and documentation progress; follow up with suppliers to ensure compliance with delivery dates.
• Act as the main point of contact between suppliers, vendors and internal teams; conduct regular progress meetings and coordinate FAT, inspections and material release.
• Coordinate with third‑party inspection agencies, ensure timely submission of vendor documents, MRBs and certificates.
• Liaise with logistics and freight forwarding teams for shipping, customs clearance and offshore delivery; track packing, preservation and marking requirements.
• Prepare weekly/monthly expediting and procurement status reports, highlight risks and coordinate closely with Engineering, QA/QC, Planning, Construction and Offshore teams.
• Verify that materials and equipment meet offshore standards (API, ASME, ISO, NORSOK) and HSE requirements; support audits and vendor assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 + years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry with strong procurement expertise in offshore projects.
• At least 5 + years working on ADNOC offshore projects and 5 + years in a similar role for mega FEED/EPC projects (> US$1 billion).
• 5–10 years of procurement and expediting experience, handling long‑lead offshore equipment such as valves, piping, rotating equipment and packages.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is mandatory.

Required skills

• Knowledge of API, ASME, ISO and NORSOK standards.
• Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) coordination.
• Long‑lead equipment procurement and expediting.
