Specialist Project Engineer DBO

About the role

Worley, a global energy, chemicals and resources company, is hiring a Specialist Project Engineer (DBO) in Abu Dhabi. The role leads the PMC Engineering group and oversees the Contractor during the Engineering and Procurement phases of a project, providing independent project management consultancy and technical advice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day work allocation and supervision of the PMC Engineering group and oversee the Contractor during Engineering and Procurement.
• Ensure PMC Engineering personnel are competent and that the group has the right disciplines and size to meet the PMC Contract.
• Lead the development of engineering processes, procedures and systems, and coordinate technical reviews of vendor documents.
• Take part in design review and analysis, including constructability, safety, fire protection and material selection, and secure Owner approval of engineering designs.
• Interface daily with Piping, Mechanical, Structural and E&I disciplines and manage interfaces with contractors, owners, customers and government bodies.
• Carry out technical evaluation of bids, issue bid clarifications and prepare technical evaluation reports and recommendations.
• Organise the project team, delegate work, run regular project meetings and achieve scheduled performance, cost, quality and HSE targets.
• Provide leadership and development opportunities for the team, conduct succession planning and competence assessments, and carry out site visits to demonstrate safety leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
• FEED and EPC experience is required.
• Experience in PMC roles and in offshore and upstream projects, including previous offshore work.
• ADNOC experience is required.
