Specialist Rigging & Lifting Engineer – Offshore Water Injection

About the role

The Specialist Rigging & Lifting Engineer will lead planning, engineering and execution of all lifting and rigging activities for an offshore water injection project. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role combines office work with a 6‑weeks‑on/3‑weeks‑off offshore rotation, ensuring safe and efficient heavy‑lift operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review lifting studies, procedures, rigging plans and method statements for offshore installations.
• Prepare detailed lift plans, perform load calculations, and verify lifting points, padeyes and temporary structures.
• Coordinate heavy‑lift operations using offshore cranes and lifting vessels, providing on‑site technical support.
• Manage rigging equipment selection, certification review and periodic inspections.
• Ensure compliance with LEEA, LOLER, API, ASME, OSHA and client‑specific lifting standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Marine, Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of rigging, lifting engineering and offshore construction experience, including at least 5 years on offshore oil & gas projects.
• Professional Engineering registration preferred; LEEA or equivalent lifting certification highly desirable.
• Previous experience on offshore water injection facilities, heavy‑lift installations and EPC projects.
