Specialist – Settlement Services (Emiratised Role)

About the role

The Specialist, Settlement Services is responsible for end‑to‑end monitoring and processing of settlement transactions across domestic, regional and international markets. The role ensures accurate, timely settlement of equities, funds, fixed income, ETFs, securities lending, borrowing and short‑selling activities while delivering high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and process daily settlement instructions for a wide range of products, validating accuracy and ensuring timely matching across all markets.
• Communicate with clients, sub‑custodians, regulators, brokers and other stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure smooth settlement flows.
• Perform cash and FX settlement validation, reconcile positions and holdings, and escalate mismatches to senior management.
• Support system upgrades, process enhancements and off‑hours testing, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide first‑level training for new specialists and assist colleagues with complex settlement inquiries.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of settlement processes, market rules and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to handle high‑value, complex transactions while mitigating operational risk.
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to quality‑control procedures.
• Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams and external parties.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SWIFT messaging for settlement instructions.
• Experience in FX and cash settlement processing.
• Knowledge of securities lending and borrowing operations.
• Reconciliation and position‑management capabilities.
