Specialist Visceral Surgeon

About the role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Visceral Surgeon to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the abdominal organs. The role involves performing both elective and emergency surgeries and providing comprehensive pre‑ and post‑operative care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures on abdominal organs, including open, laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs and bowel resections.
• Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal diseases, abdominal infections, bowel obstructions, perforations and other acute surgical conditions.
• Conduct patient evaluations, develop individualized surgical treatment plans, obtain informed consent and oversee post‑operative recovery and follow‑up care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists and intensive‑care specialists.
• Maintain accurate medical records, operative notes and participate in clinical audits and continuous medical education.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree and postgraduate qualification in General Surgery or Visceral Surgery (e.g., MS, DNB, FRCS, UK CCT, American Board, Arab Board).
• Minimum of 3 years post‑specialisation experience in abdominal surgery, with a valid UAE medical license or eligibility for licensing.
• Proven expertise in managing complex surgical cases and emergency situations.
• Strong clinical judgment, decision‑making and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
