Speech Language Therapist / Pathologist

About the role

Al Ain Hospital is seeking a qualified Speech Language Therapist/Pathologist to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive, fluency, voice, swallowing and feeding disorders. The role involves independent case management with supervision, delivering individualized therapy plans and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients with developmental speech and language delays, social communication disorders, dysfluency and motor speech disorders.
• Develop and implement specialised treatment plans for individuals and groups, targeting attention, auditory processing, language comprehension, expression, and speech production.
• Advise caregivers and professionals on communication and oro‑motor management, setting and reviewing specific therapeutic targets.
• Conduct thorough case histories, use standardised assessments, and apply clinical reasoning to establish baselines and differential diagnoses.
• Deliver therapy sessions that integrate speech and language programmes into patients' daily routines.
• Collaborate with internal and external agencies, providing training and recommendations to families, educators and other professionals.
• Maintain infection‑control standards, monitor equipment, and ensure safety regulations are followed.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech Language Therapist/Pathologist with relevant licensure.
• Experience managing a diverse caseload of pediatric and adult patients.
• Strong analytical and clinical reasoning abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in administering and interpreting standardised speech‑language assessments.
• Ability to design and deliver individualized therapy programs.
• Knowledge of infection‑control procedures and equipment maintenance.
