Staff Nurse – Cardiac ICU

About the role

The Staff Nurse – Cardiac ICU provides specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in a high‑intensity intensive care environment. The role involves comprehensive assessment, monitoring, treatment administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac ICU patients, including assessment, medication administration, and advanced cardiac support.
• Monitor and interpret ECGs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and manage mechanical ventilation and invasive monitoring devices.
• Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies, code‑blue situations, and patient deterioration.
• Assist physicians during bedside procedures, and provide pre‑ and post‑procedural care for cardiac interventions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and adhere to infection control and medication safety protocols.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, patient education, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent recognized nursing qualification.
• 2–5 years recent experience in a Cardiac ICU, ICU, CCU or similar critical‑care setting.
• Valid Department of Health (DOH) license for Abu Dhabi or eligibility letter.
• Mandatory BLS and ACLS certifications; Critical Care Nursing certification preferred.

Required skills

• Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation.
• Ventilator management and invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
