Staff Nurse – Emergency Preparedness

About the role

The Staff Nurse – Emergency Preparedness provides age‑appropriate patient care in line with the Nursing Scope of Practice and the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi. The role supports health education, promotes patient safety, and contributes to the hospital’s emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care according to organisational policies and unit scope.
• Coordinate individualized care from first contact through discharge, including referral processes.
• Identify significant changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate actions and report to supervisors or physicians.
• Administer medications, monitor responses, report adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
• Supervise practical nurses, midwives, junior staff and student nurses; act as preceptor and role model.
• Participate in performance reviews, act as mentor and support organisational change.
• Respond to emergencies following hospital policies and promote a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach.
