Staff Nurse – Interventional Radiography

About the role

The Staff Nurse – Interventional Radiography will deliver age‑appropriate patient care within the interventional radiology suite, supporting the organization’s mission and adhering to Abu Dhabi nursing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care throughout the interventional radiology episode.
• Perform vascular access, angiography, angioplasty, embolization and biopsy procedures.
• Administer sedation, monitor patients and manage contrast media and any reactions.
• Provide recovery and post‑procedure care, including discharge planning.
• Supervise and precept junior staff, practical nurses, midwives and student nurses.
• Document care accurately and report significant changes to physicians.
• Promote health education and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Valid DOH RN license.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience as an Interventional Radiology Nurse.
• Ability to assess and stabilize patients before, during and after procedures.
• Experience in recovery and post‑procedure care.
• Knowledge of vascular access, angiography, embolization, biopsy, sedation and contrast media management.
