Staff Nurse – MSW

About the role

The Staff Nurse – MSW will deliver age‑appropriate patient care in line with the organisation's mission, vision and professional nursing standards. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, health education and collaborative practice within a multicultural hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Supervise and mentor practical nurses, midwives, junior staff and student nurses.
• Act as a preceptor and in‑charge staff as delegated.
• Coordinate individualized care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.
• Identify and act on significant changes in patient condition, reporting to supervisors or physicians.
• Advocate for patient rights and dignity, promoting cultural sensitivity.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient‑ and family‑centred care.
• Administer medications safely, monitor responses, and report adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
• Respond to emergencies according to hospital policies.
• Apply evidence‑based practice and contribute to cost‑effective resource use.

Required profile

• Professional commitment to nursing standards and the Abu Dhabi Code of Conduct.
• Strong critical‑thinking, conflict‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience mentoring and supervising junior staff.
• Accountability for personal practice within scope of competence.
