Staff Nurse - Neonatal ICU (NICU)

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Dubai is looking for a highly skilled and compassionate NICU nurse to provide specialized care to critically ill or premature newborns. The role demands strong expertise in neonatal critical care, excellent clinical judgment and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill or premature newborns in the NICU
• Monitor and assess neonates' vital signs, neurological status, oxygenation and overall condition, reporting significant changes promptly
• Operate and monitor advanced neonatal life-support equipment such as ventilators, incubators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps and phototherapy devices
• Administer medications, IV therapies and specialized treatments as prescribed by neonatologists and pediatricians
• Assist physicians during emergency procedures, neonatal resuscitation and critical interventions
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with the multidisciplinary neonatal care team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans and progress
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards and healthcare regulations
• Support, educate and guide parents and families about their newborn's care and development
• Take part in quality improvement initiatives, case reviews and continuing professional development

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU or neonatal critical care experience in a hospital setting
• Valid nursing license from home country
• Eligibility for a nursing license in Dubai (DHA eligibility, license or willingness to obtain)
• Willingness to work in Dubai, UAE
• Experience in tertiary care or internationally accredited hospitals is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of neonatal care procedures, ventilators and critical care equipment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Excellent clinical, communication and teamwork skills
