Staff Nurse - Pediatric ICU

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Dubai is looking for a skilled and compassionate PICU nurse to provide specialized critical care to infants, children and adolescents with serious and life-threatening conditions. The role suits someone with strong clinical expertise in pediatric critical care who can work well under pressure while keeping the highest standards of patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, neurological status and overall condition, reporting changes immediately.
• Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors and infusion pumps.
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist physicians during emergency procedures and critical interventions.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans with the multidisciplinary medical team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans and progress.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies, safety standards and healthcare regulations.
• Support and guide patients' families and caregivers emotionally.
• Take part in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of recent PICU or pediatric critical care experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid nursing license from the home country and eligibility for a nursing license in Dubai (DHA eligibility, license or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in tertiary care or accredited hospitals is an advantage.
• Willingness to work in Dubai.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pediatric critical care procedures and equipment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Excellent clinical, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
