Staff Physician – Orthopedic Surgery

About the role
We are looking for a Staff Physician (or Associate Staff Physician) to join the Orthopedic Surgery service at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will apply advanced medical knowledge and surgical expertise to diagnose, treat and manage adult musculoskeletal conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and provide comprehensive care to adult patients within the Orthopedic Surgery service.
- Evaluate, diagnose and manage orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions in the area of subspecialty expertise.
- Review patient history, clinical findings, imaging and diagnostic results to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide non‑operative and surgical treatment as appropriate within approved clinical privileges.
- Perform orthopedic surgical procedures and operations within the area of expertise.
- Lead patient care from initial consultation and surgical planning through postoperative follow‑up.
- Explain diagnoses, treatment options, procedures and expected outcomes to patients and families.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, sports medicine physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and medical records.
- Contribute to quality improvement, education, research and evidence‑based practice.
- Participate in medical staff, administrative and performance improvement activities.
- Provide care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner and adhere to ethical, regulatory and hospital policies.
Required profile
- MD, MBBS or MBChB from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency training program in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Recognition of a specialty qualification in Orthopedic Surgery as per DOH Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements (PQR) 2025.
- Valid medical license/registration in home country or country of last employment.
- For consultants from Tier 1 countries: minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience.
- For consultants from Tier 2 countries: minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience.
- For specialists from Tier 3 countries: minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience.
