Steward

About the role

The Steward will support the Food & Beverage operations at W Hotels on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi by ensuring all kitchen and service areas are clean, sanitized and well‑maintained. This full‑time, on‑site position is essential for delivering the high standards of hygiene and service expected in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and organize kitchen equipment, tools, knives, tables and storage areas.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly and rotate stock.
• Use detergents, rinsing and sanitising chemicals in a 3‑compartment sink to clean dishes and silverware.
• Inspect, re‑scrub and re‑wash items as needed, and properly store clean wares.
• Empty and maintain trash cans, dumpsters and recycling bins; break down cardboard and glass for disposal.
• Clean and mop all assigned department floors and surfaces.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions to the manager and follow safety procedures.

Required profile

• No specific education requirement; high school diploma or equivalent not mandatory.
• No prior experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.
• No supervisory experience or licences needed.

Required skills

• Operation of dishwashing and cleaning equipment.
• Handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitising agents.
• Ability to follow health, safety and hygiene standards.
