Stewarding Shift Leader

About the role

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, a five-star beachfront luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi, is hiring a Stewarding Shift Leader. The role oversees daily stewarding operations across food and beverage outlets, kitchens, banquet facilities and back-of-house areas, leading and motivating the stewarding team and supporting kitchen and service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate stewarding activities during assigned shifts, ensuring cleaning, sanitization and storage of kitchen equipment, utensils, china, glassware and cookware.
• Monitor dishwashing operations so that clean equipment is available for all outlets and events.
• Inspect kitchens, stewarding areas, waste rooms and back-of-house facilities regularly, and ensure cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures are completed on time.
• Support banquet and catering operations with timely setup and breakdown of equipment.
• Lead, train, motivate and supervise Stewarding Attendants and Kitchen Porters; allocate duties, run daily shift briefings and give on-the-job coaching.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety standards, local health regulations and hotel policies, and monitor the correct use of chemicals, detergents and cleaning equipment.
• Enforce occupational health and safety procedures, report accidents and hazards, and maintain cleaning logs, temperature records and sanitation checklists.
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, assist with inventory counts and requisitions, and promote waste segregation, recycling and water and energy conservation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Food Safety or HACCP is preferred.
• Additional hospitality or supervisory training is advantageous.
