Structural Engineer – Bridge Design (Dubai)

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join its Dubai office. The role focuses on the design of bridges, underpasses, rail structures and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with international design codes and delivering high‑quality technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed design concepts and produce calculations, sketches and design information for bridges, underpasses, rail stations and other structures.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM technicians to generate accurate construction drawings.
• Plan and conduct site inspections of structures when required.
• Prepare technical reports, risk assessments and health‑and‑safety documentation.
• Maintain design spreadsheets and support the creation of the project’s Health and Safety file.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Structural or Bridge Engineering; MSc preferred.
• Chartered Engineer or PE licence preferred.
• 4–6 years of hands‑on experience designing bridges, underpasses, rail structures or similar infrastructure.
• Experience on UAE or Middle‑East projects is an advantage.
• Team‑player attitude with strong communication and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to review BIM models using Navisworks.
• Knowledge of design codes such as AASHTO LRFD, Eurocodes and AREMA.
• Experience creating and managing design spreadsheets.
