Structural Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to supervise and coordinate bridge and tunnel works in Dubai, working closely with RTA, Dubai Municipality and other authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise bridge sub‑structure and super‑structure works, including pile foundations, girders, deck slabs and post‑tensioning operations.
• Oversee TBM‑related activities, segment delivery, ring build, annular grouting and as‑built documentation.
• Review and comment on contractor method statements, ITPs, shop drawings, material submittals and temporary works.
• Verify survey set‑outs, geometric tolerances and heavy‑lift operations against IFC drawings.
• Raise and investigate non‑conformances, support the ARE in FIDIC administration and payment valuation.
• Maintain site records, daily inspection reports and HSE compliance, and prepare regular structural supervision reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of structural engineering experience, at least 8 years supervising major bridge or tunnel projects.
• At least 6 years UAE/GCC experience on RTA, metro or Dubai Municipality projects.
• Fluent English, physically able to work underground and in confined spaces.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 350, AASHTO LRFD, BS 5400, BS EN 1992, ITA guidelines and local RTA/DM specifications.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, LUSAS or STAAD.Pro (review level).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks and MS Office.
• Understanding of post‑tensioning, TBM operations and segmental ring geometry.
