Structural Inspector

About the role

Stantec is seeking a qualified Structural Inspector to join its construction team in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves ensuring that all structural works meet the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of construction activities, materials, and processes.
• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to verify compliance.
• Perform material tests (concrete, steel, etc.) to assess structural integrity.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non‑conformance reports.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality issues.
• Interpret and enforce building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Participate in site meetings to discuss quality control matters.
• Monitor workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
• Provide detailed reports to project managers and quality assurance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in construction quality control, specifically structural inspection.
• Experience with healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, laboratories) is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
