Structural Inspector – Steel Plant (UAE)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Inspector to join our AMC team at a steel plant in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves inspecting, assessing condition, reporting, and monitoring structural steel and building structures to ensure safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect steel structures, buildings, platforms, pipe racks, conveyor structures, crane beams, and supports.
• Identify corrosion, cracks, deformation, damaged welds, loose bolts, and other structural defects.
• Conduct routine and periodic structural inspections and prepare detailed reports.
• Monitor structural repairs, painting/coating, welding, bolting, and strengthening works.
• Coordinate UTM/NDT inspections when required.
• Maintain inspection records, defect registers, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Immediately report critical structural safety issues to the responsible engineer/management.
• Ensure compliance with UAE requirements, project specifications, HSE procedures, and applicable international standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in structural inspection, preferably in steel plants or heavy industry.
• Good knowledge of structural steel, welding, bolting, corrosion, and NDT.
• Ability to read structural/fabrication drawings and prepare inspection reports.
