Supermarket Accountant

About the role

Golden Cart, a premium supermarket in Sharjah, is looking for a motivated Accountant to manage its financial records, ensure VAT compliance, and provide insightful reports that support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update ledgers, process invoices, receipts, payments and credit notes.
• Reconcile bank statements and cash balances on a timely basis.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Ensure all transactions comply with UAE VAT laws and submit accurate VAT returns.
• Monitor inventory valuation, COGS and support periodic inventory audits.
• Process monthly payroll, employee reimbursements and manage petty cash.
• Support external auditors and implement internal controls.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and cost control practices.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Fluent English communication; Arabic is a plus.
