Sustaining Engineer I – Operations

About the role

The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for providing immediate response to design‑related production issues, managing the Product Lifecycle for Busbar designs, and improving Design for Manufacturability. Busbar is an Engineered‑To‑Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered, leading to higher complexity and variation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and cross‑functionally coordinate Design for Manufacturability improvements (safety, quality, efficiency).
• Provide design support for issues discovered during production.
• Provide design support for supply chain constraints.
• Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI).
• Ensure quality of ETO design before release to production.

Required profile

• 1‑3+ years of experience in product design.
• 1‑3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting.
• Excellent communication skills – written & verbal.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability.
• 1‑3+ years of experience in sheet metal and copper design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
